Pine Coffee Supply<\/a>, a quality-obsessive coffee company born in small-town Wyoming, has found a second home in the relatively big city of Boise, Idaho.<\/p>\n

The Pinedale, Wyoming-based coffee roasting company opened its second brick-and-mortar retail location in Boise’s West Downtown neighborhood this past summer, offering 900 square feet of interior space, a spacious outdoor area and two fire pits for cozying up with hot drinks.<\/p>\n

“[Boise] is a place that we just really loved to visit and spend time in,” Pine Coffee Supply Co-Owner Cody Hamilton recently told DCN. “Over the past few years I had been visiting a wholesale account of ours there and got to know some of the baristas there. We knew we wanted to open a location in a larger market and Boise just felt right.”<\/p>\n

Cody and his father Jim Hamilton opened Pine Coffee Supply in 2017. The older Hamilton is the co-founder of Springfield, Missouri-based coffee shop and roaster The Coffee Ethic<\/a>, where the younger Hamilton first caught the coffee bug as a barista.<\/p>\n

In Boise, the new Pine shop is outfitted with custom-made furniture and wood surfaces, including pieces from local firm Iron & Timber<\/a> and a bar top and table tops made by Cody and his wife Maddie Hamilton. Bar stools and table bases came from Grand Rapids Chair Co.<\/a><\/p>\n

“We are looking into more ways to utilize our amazing outdoor space,” Cody Hamilton said. “One possibility is adding wine and beer in the evenings so you can cozy up around the fire pit with a nice glass or grab a bottle inside to take home.”<\/p>\n

Espresso drinks at the new Boise cafe come by way of Mahlkonig E65s GBW<\/a> and Sanremo Cafe Racer machines. Single-cup brews flow through Origami brewers, while full-immersion manual brews come from a Trinity brewer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Our managers at the Boise location are very creative and love developing seasonal signature drinks, so those are always something to look forward to,” Hamilton said. “We also have constantly rotating offerings of coffees. We intentionally keep the number of coffees we offer to around five so that we can rotate through them faster.”<\/p>\n

All of the coffees for the Boise shop come from Pine’s roastery back in Wyoming, where high-quality greens from suppliers such as Forest Coffee<\/a> (Colombia), Red Fox Coffee Merchants<\/a>, La Baia Coffee Supply<\/a> and Sucafina<\/a> make their way through a 10-kilo Proaster<\/a> machine.<\/p>\n

“For our roasting, we source the highest-end and most unique coffees we can find,” Hamilton said. “If it doesn\u2019t stand out and really wow our tastebuds, it doesn\u2019t make our offerings.”<\/p>\n

As the shops in Pinedale and Boise continue to gain followings, Hamilton said the business has expanded its direct-to-consumer sales, and hopes more shops may ultimately follow.<\/p>\n

“We are still a fairly young company but are very ambitious. Being based out of a small town in Wyoming it\u2019s amazing to see people from all over the country coming in and ordering online,” Hamilton said. “We want to continue to grow our wholesale partnerships and would love to possibly open more shops in the future.”<\/p>\n
